A magnitude 3.1 earthquake jolted Cagayan province on Monday, August 25, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
According to the agency, the tectonic quake was recorded at 8:35 a.m.
Phivolcs said its center is traced about 10 kilometers from Santa Teresita, Cagayan.
Though minor in strength, it said the tremor’s shallow depth of two kilometers helped make it felt.
The agency said the quake is not expected to cause damage or trigger aftershocks.
