The convenors of the “Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG)" team discussed urgent matters on honest and transparent leadership of government officials during its recent meeting with Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) officials.
M4GG convenors Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and Isabela, Basilan Mayor Sitti Hataman had officially introduced the group to DILG Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic’’ Remulla where critical governing concerns were pondered.
During the meeting, the mayors addressed pressing national issues, including corruption in infrastructure projects like flood control.
Remulla expressed full support for M4GG’s advocacy for clean and effective local governance.
This was followed by the first M4GG Convenors’ meeting where the movement’s direction was outlined for the next three years. The group also began reviewing mayoral applications for membership renewal.
“The updated roster of members is set to be released by the end of the month,’’ the DILG stated.
The day was highlighted by the renewed partnership through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with SGV & Co., aimed at strengthening local governments with modern, transparent and accountable systems.
The M4GG group vowed to remain committed to advancing good governance, from local communities to the national stage, for a cleaner government and a more sustainable future.
