The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested two individuals for allegedly stealing copper cable wires along Quirino Highway, Barangay Talipapa, Quezon City, on Monday morning, August 25.
According to the police, patrolling officers from the District Tactical Mobile Unit (DTMU) saw the suspects pulling and cutting the cable wires.

Upon sensing police presence, the suspects fled on board a white Elf truck, prompting a hot pursuit.
The chase ended along Congressional Avenue, corner Visayas Avenue, Barangay Bahay Toro, at around 4:30 a.m., where alert mobile crews of Project 6 Police Station 15 successfully intercepted the suspects.
Police identified the suspects as alias “John”, 25, and alias “Rio”, 30, both residents of Tondo, Manila.
Recovered from the suspects were three FSF underground copper cable wire with a total length of 28.6 meters worth P127,841.54, one white Isuzu Elf truck used as a getaway vehicle, one green hacksaw frame, and one orange bolt cutter.
The suspects will be charged for violation of R.A. 10515 or the Anti-Cable Television and Cable Internet Tapping Act of 2013 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
