'When Life Gives You Tangerines,' 'Nine Puzzles' win at Global OTT Awards 2025

Netflix’s “When Life Gives You Tangerines” and Disney+’s “Nine Puzzles” won at the  Global OTT Awards 2025 held on Aug. 24 at the  Busan Cinema Center in Busan, South Korea. 

The international awards ceremony recognized “excellence in TV, OTT, and digital content worldwide.”

“When Life Gives You Tangerines,” which starred IU and Park Bogum, won Best Creative or “content that contributed to the expansion of content diversity by discovering new materials and fresh formats and by manifesting the most remarkable achievements in the content field.”

“Nine Puzzles,” which starred Kim Da-mi and Son Suk-ku, took home the Best OTT Original award or “OTT original content that received high praise for its popularity and artistry.”

The Best Asian Contents award went to “The Outlaw Doctor” by PTS Taiwan, Chunghwa Telecom and GrX Studio, recognized for “Asian content that received high praise for its popularity and artistry.”

Park Eun-bin won  Best Lead Actor (Female) for Disney+’s “Hyper Knife” while Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi won Best Lead Actor (Male) for Coupang Play’s “What Comes After Love.” 

The Global OTT Awards ceremony was co-hosted by Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Busan Metropolitan City, and co-organized by the Korea International Streaming Festival (KISF) and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA). 

It was originally known as the ACA & Global OTT Awards held during the 2023 and 2024 Busan International Film Festival.

This year, it became a program of the Streaming Festival 2025, which will be held in Busan.
