Uncle, nephew hack each other to death

BACOLOD CITY – A 65-year-old farmer and his 47-year-old nephew hacked each other to death in Sitio Kuli-Kuli, Barangay Mabunao, Bais City, Negros Oriental on Thursday, Aug. 21.

Police Corporal Rechuel Adalia, assistant investigator of the Bais City Police Station, said the victim was visiting his son, a neighbor of the suspect, when he saw the suspect armed with a bolo and challenging people to a fight.

The victim approached the suspect to pacify him but suspect was irked and hacked him. The victim managed to grab the bolo and hack the suspect. The suspect died on the spot while the victim was declared dead in a hospital.

The suspect’s mother said her son had unstable behavior and violent.

Police received reports of the suspect’s unstable behavior but no injuries were reported.
