The event, held at Navotas Centennial Park, featured 16-kilometer and 8-kilometer races with participants coming from different cities in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. Organizers said 317 runners joined the longer route, while 319 competed in the shorter distance.
Mayor John Rey Tiangco said the activity reflected the growing popularity of running in Navotas, especially along C4 Road and R-10, where residents regularly jog, bike, and exercise.
“Ang hangarin natin ay hindi lamang makatulong sa mga benepisyaryo kundi maisulong din ang aktibong pamumuhay at makilala ang Navotas bilang destinasyon para sa sports at wellness,” Tiangco said.
Winners in the 16-kilometer male division were led by Pinmark Balagon of Mandaluyong, followed by Navotas locals Redie Kim and Symon Santos. In the female category, Lorelyn Magalona of Dasmariñas, Cavite, crossed the finish line first, while Kimberly Ilustrisimo of Navotas and Marjorie Tan of Dasmariñas placed second and third.
In the 8-kilometer race, Aljur Rendon of Quezon City bagged the top spot in the men’s division, with Cyrus Lasibal of Malabon and Merck Jounes Tribo of Pulilan, Bulacan coming in next. Renelyn Tribo of Pulilan won the women’s division, followed by Aubrey Mata of Malabon and Sophia Yurango of Imus, Cavite.
Proceeds of the run will go to the Josefheim Foundation, which cares for the sick and elderly, and the Navotas Drum and Bugle Corps, a local youth group that develops musical talent.
First launched in 2024, NavoRun has since become a yearly tradition blending sports, charity, and community engagement, strengthening the city’s bid to build a reputation as a fitness-friendly destination.
