73rd Famas at Manila Hotel: Vice Ganda, Arjo Atayde, Marian Rivera win top acting honors
"Nakakaloka! (This is crazy)," said Vice Ganda when he accepted the Famas trophy.
(I just came here to celebrate my nomination with Director Jun Lana because this is my first movie to be nominated for Best Picture at Famas.)"
(After we did 'And The Breadwinner Is ...' I told myself that every award-giving body that nominates us, I'm going to attend. I'm really proud of the movie and I embrace all the nominations that are given to us)," he said.
It was the second Famas trophy for Vice Ganda. In 2018, Vice Ganda received the first Dolphy Memorial Award, which his mother accepted.
(I'm here because I'm proud to be nominated. Then I won.) Thank you, Famas, for making me the first blonde, fully made up, and in a black gown to receive the Best Actor award. May this award inspire the queer kids to embrace the endless possibilities the world could offer you," said Vice Ganda. "As a queer person, your possibilities are limitless."

The Best Picture award went to "Alipato at Muog," an independent documentary film that focuses on activist Jonas Burgos, who was forcibly disappeared by suspected military personnel in 2007. It also won Best Director for JL Burgos.
Arjo, who tied with Vice Ganda for Best Actor, was praised for his role as an ex-military man with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the action movie "Topakk."
