Manila offers free Doxycycline in health centers, hospitals to prevent leptospirosis
The City Government of Manila has announced the availability of free Doxycycline in its health centers and district hospitals starting Saturday, August 23, in preparation for expected rains and the health risks they can cause.
Doxycycline is an antibiotic used to prevent leptospirosis, a potentially serious bacterial infection commonly transmitted through floodwaters.
This public health initiative aims to reduce the number of infections during the rainy season by ensuring early access to preventive care.
The following health centers in each district are distributing free Doxycycline:

- Velasquez
- Bo. Magsaysay

- Bo. Fugoso
- Parola
District 2:

- Bo. Obrero

- Tondo
District 3:

- San Sebastian
- San Nicolas
- Dimasalang
District 4:

- Luzviminda
- Dapitan
- Calabash

The City Government Employees' Clinic also distributed Doxycycline at Manila City Hall, as part of the city's broader campaign to protect both employees and residents from seasonal infections.
The Manila Health Department reminds all residents to take advantage of this free service and seek medical attention immediately if they have waded through floodwaters.
