Korean star Park Bogum thanked Filipinos for their warm welcome when he held his fan meeting in Manila.
"Thanks to my friends in Manila, this journey has been truly heartwarming. Everyone welcomed me with bright smiles and joyful hearts, and I'm deeply grateful for that. You were with me 6 years ago, you are with me now, and you've always been there. Wishing you peace and blessings until we meet again. God bless you all!" Park Bogum posted on Instagram.
Neither rain nor flood could stop Filipino fans from seeing Park Bogum, star of the series “Good Boy” and “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” at his “Be With You” fan meeting tour in Manila held on Aug. 22 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Fans were amazed by the actor’s sweet gestures, including going to the audience area to be up close with them.
Park Bogum opened the fan meeting by performing “Hello,” a song originally released by Park Hye-kyung in 2003 and covered by Red Velvet member Joy in 2021. He also sang “Fine,” “I Will Be Here,” “Through the Night” and “Ikaw Lang” by Nobita.
“Kamusta? Miss kita (How are you? I missed you). Hello, Philippines. Thank you so much for your support and love,” he greeted the audience.
It’s been six years since Park Bogum held his “Good Day” fan meeting in Manila at the same venue in June 2019.
“I’m super happy to meet you all. I can’t believe it. I’m here with you…because six years ago,” he said.
2025 has been a busy year for Park Bogum. Besides starring in “Good Boy” and “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” he also hosted the music talk show “The Seasons: Park Bo-gum's Cantabile” from March to August.
Manila Bulletin had the privilege of interviewing Park Bogum, Kim So-hyun and Lee Sang-yi during the world premiere of “Good Boy” in Bangkok, Thailand .
In addition, Park Bogum has been launched as the new honorary ambassador of Korea tourism.
At the fan meeting in Manila, Park Bogum talked about his personal life and career.
For “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” Park Bogum said in order to show that his character was from an island, he said the director requested him to bulk up by working out.
In addition, he revealed that that suit that his character, Gwan-sik, wore belonged to his father and it was small for him, a detail that “we tried harder to express through the screen as well.”
Emcee Sam Oh asked him what made him decide to star in “Good Boy,” which premiered on Prime Video.
“The reason why I wanted to participate in this project was because of the heart of Dong-ju [his character]. Regardless of the customs or cultures surrounding him, he actually has this spirit of justice and moving forward, and I actually liked the spirit that he had. I also have this thought that somewhere, there are also righteous persons who are struggling for righteousness or justice. Even in the Philippines. I decided to join the drama with the hope of supporting such honest, just and righteous people,” Park Bogum explained.
Park Bogum also played jackstone and had a selfie with a fan. In addition, he played the piano to greet a fan with a happy birthday.
As he ended the fan meeting, Park Bogum said, “Thank you so much everyone. I will miss you. You guys, whenever, whatever you are, every season, I'm going to be with you.”
“Thank you so much for your unconditional love and your support. Until we meet again, always take care, and stay healthy and stay warm,” he said.
