House Speaker Martin Romualdez hailed First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos' "quiet strength" on the occasion of her 66th birthday.
"Happy birthday, Madam First Lady! On behalf of the House of Representatives, I extend our warmest greetings and sincere prayers for many more years of joy, resilience, and blessings in the company of your loved ones," Romualdez said in a message Thursday, Aug. 21.
"Your grace, wisdom, and quiet strength have been a constant source of inspiration to your family and countless Filipinos who admire your steadfast dedication to service," he noted.
"Behind your humility is a resolute spirit that uplifts those around you and reinforces our President's vision of building a stronger and better Philippines," Romualdez further said of President Marcos' better half.
Romualdez and President Marcos are cousins.
