For the first time in 20 years, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is set to raise its terminal fees.
International flight fees are expected to rise up to ₱950 from ₱550, while domestic flight fees are expected to increase to ₱390 from ₱200 per passenger. These changes are set to take effect on Sept. 14, 2025. Though there are special cases wherein travelers are exempted from the terminal fees. These include Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), religious pilgrimage travelers (Hajj, Umrah), and sports competitors for international competitions.
These fees are often already included when purchasing tickets from flight carriers. Other fees travelers frequently face include the international travel tax, which has flyers shelling out ₱1,620 for economy class and ₱2,700 for first class flights heading outside the country.
Based on reports, the added fees will go into the renovations for Terminals 1 and 3. They are also working on the installation of e-gates. Though some groups have called on the Supreme Court to block the implementation.
