Mayor Ruffy Biazon suspended face-to-face classes in all levels in public and private schools in Muntinlupa on Aug. 22 due to bad weather.
“Batay sa forecast na pinalabas ng PAGASA ngayong 5:05 AM at rainfall forecast ng DDRMO, face to face classes are suspended today in Muntinlupa City, August 22, 2025, all levels, public and private. (Based on the forecast released by PAGASA today at 5:05 AM and the rainfall forecast by DDRMO, face to face classes are suspended today in Muntinlupa City, August 22, 2025, all levels, public and private),” Biazon announced.
In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 5:05 a.m. on Aug. 22, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said, “Moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds over portions of Laguna, Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite which may persist within 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.”
The Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management also issued a forecast of up to 91 percent chance of rain for Aug. 22 in the city.
