Another 'Salisi Gang' member behind theft of Comelec chair nabbed in Cavite

Authorities from the Pasay City Police nabbed on Thursday, Aug. 21, in Bacoor City, Cavite, another “Salisi Gang” member who victimized Commission on Election (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia and stole his bag while eating lunch at a Pasay City restaurant.
Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito De Sesto identified the suspect as Rowel Tengson, alias Romson Magalpoc, 41, who was apprehended at around 5:00 p.m. in Molino Road, Barangay Molino VI, Bacoor, Cavite.
De Sesto said the arrest of Magalpoc was made following a tip provided by an informant that he was hiding in Molino, Bacoor, Cavite.
He said Magalpoc was positively identified by a waitress of Singing Cooks and Waiters Atbp Restaurant as one of the Salisi Gang members who took Garcia’s bag containing cash, cellular phone, and assorted identification cards, which was placed beside the victim's chair.
The city police chief said the first to fall in their hot pursuit operation of the eight members of the “Salisi Gang” was Hazel, 44, who was arrested in Las Piñas on August 20. Hazel served as the lookout of the group.
The police said Garcia and his group dined at the second floor of Singing Cooks and Waiters Atbp Restaurant after attending a Senate hearing on anti-political dynasty last August 19, when the incident happened.
