Five persons were seriously hurt following a road crash between five different vehicles in Rizal Avenue in Blumentritt, Tondo, Manila on Wednesday night, Aug. 20.
According to the authorities, a speeding white SUV driven by an alleged foreigner first hit the road's center island, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and hit four other vehicles including a taxi, a motorcycle, a tricycle, and a jeepney full of passengers.
The Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) said five individuals were injured in the road mishap including a 37-year-old woman who complained of chest pains, a 27-year-old woman who sustained multiple wounds, a 45-year-old woman who suffered from possible broken arms, a 28-year-old man who sustained wounds on his arm and knee, and a 44-year-old man with broken legs.
All five were quickly rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV was placed under police custody while the investigation in the incident is ongoing.
