Free medicines under PhilHealth's P20K annual benefit: What you can get starting August 21

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is expanding its “Yaman ng Kalusugan Program” (YAKAP) to include up to P20,000 worth of essential outpatient medicines annually, benefiting members starting Aug. 21.
The expanded drug benefit, known as the Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT), builds on the 21 medicines previously covered under the Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) package.
With the addition of 54 more medicines, the new total reaches 75, as outlined in PhilHealth Circular No. 2025-0013.
These medicines cover a wide range of common and chronic conditions, including infections, respiratory diseases such as asthma and COPD, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart conditions, nervous system disorders, and other supportive care needs.
Medicines covered
Anti-infection medicines include Albendazole, Amoxicillin, Azithromycin, Cefixime, Cefuroxime, Ciprofloxacin, Clarithromycin, Clindamycin, Clotrimazole, Cloxacillin, Co-amoxiclav, Co-trimoxazole (Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim), Doxycycline, Erythromycin, Fluconazole, Ketoconazole, Mebendazole, Metronidazole, Nitrofurantoin, Oseltamivir, and Tobramycin.
For asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), medicines covered are Budesonide with Formoterol, Fluticasone with Salmeterol, Ipratropium, Ipratropium combined with Salbutamol, Montelukast, Prednisone, Salbutamol, and Tiotropium.
Anti-hypertensive and cardiology drugs include Amlodipine, Atenolol, Captopril, Clonidine, Diltiazem, Enalapril, Enalapril combined with Hydrochlorothiazide, Hydrochlorothiazide, Isosorbide Dinitrate, Isosorbide Mononitrate, Losartan, Methyldopa, Metoprolol, Tamsulosin, Telmisartan, Telmisartan combined with Hydrochlorothiazide, Valsartan, and Larochlorothizide.
Anti-thrombotic medicines are Clopidogrel and Aspirin.
Anti-dyslipidemia medicines include Atorvastatin, Fenofibrate, Rosuvastatin, and Simvastatin.
Anti-diabetic drugs covered are Dapagliflozin, Gliclazide, and Metformin.
For nervous system disorders, Gabapentin is included.
Supportive and other therapies include Aluminum Hydroxide combined with Magnesium Hydroxide, Butamirate, Celecoxib, Cetirizine, Chlorphenamine, Colchicine, Diphenhydramine, Ferrous Salt (iron preparations), Folic Acid combined with Iron Ferrous, Ibuprofen, Lagundi (Vitex negundo), Loratadine, Mefenamic Acid, Naproxen, Omeprazole, Oral Rehydration Salts, Paracetamol, and Zinc.
How to register
To access the benefit, members must have a PhilHealth Identification Number (PIN).
If not yet registered, members can apply through the PhilHealth Member Portal or at any PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office.
Once enrolled, members must register under the YAKAP program through the eGovPH App, PhilHealth portal, a PhilHealth office, or directly with a participating YAKAP Clinic.
After registration, members can visit their chosen YAKAP Clinic for a consultation.
If necessary, the doctor will issue a prescription through the GAMOT App, which members can use to claim medicines worth up to P20,000 per year at any GAMOT-accredited pharmacy, by presenting a valid ID and the Unique Prescription Security Code (UPSC).
PhilHealth encourages follow-up visits to the YAKAP Clinic to monitor health conditions and ensure continuous treatment.

Medicines under the GAMOT program can be claimed at the following initial list of accredited providers in Metro Manila:
CGD Medical Depot Inc. is located at Basement 1, Vertis North Ayala Malls, North Avenue, Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City.
VidaCure branches are located at Level 2, Festival Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, and Level 2, Gateway Mall in Cubao, Quezon City.
Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center is at 286 Blumentritt Street, Sta. Cruz, Manila.
Pharm Gen Ventures Corp., operating under Generika Drugstore, has branches at DPII Building, 1st Street, Cervantes Compound, Km 17, West Service Road, Barangay Marcelo Green, Parañaque City; 625 M. Naval Street corner C4 Road, Bagumbayan North, Navotas City; 13 Bayani Street, Barangay San Isidro, Galas, Quezon City; and 02 Luzon Street corner Ballecer Street, Zone 6, South Signal Village, Taguig City.
PhilHealth said more pharmacies are expected to be accredited as part of the program’s nationwide expansion.
