Volvo has updated the prices of its latest fully-electric model, the EX30. The model is available in two variants — the Core RWD and Ultra RWD Extended Range — allowing customers to choose based on their preferred performance and range requirements. The EX30 Core RWD Pure Electric is now priced at ₱2,350,000, while the EX30 Ultra RWD Extended Range Pure Electric is now priced at ₱2,690,000.
Volvo’s EX30 is a formidable contender in the electric subcompact SUV segment, combining performance, advanced safety systems, and sustainability-focused engineering. The model has earned international recognition, highlighted by a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating and the "World Urban Car" award at the 2024 World Car Awards.
The EX30 is offered locally in two variants, Core and Ultra, both powered by a rear-wheel-drive setup with a single electric motor producing 272 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque. This configuration enables the SUV to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. Driving range varies by variant, with the Ultra capable of up to 475 kilometers on the WLTP cycle, while the Core offers up to 337 kilometers. Energy efficiency is another highlight, with consumption as low as 17 kWh per 100 kilometers for the Ultra. Charging times differ, with AC charging requiring around 5.5 to 7 hours depending on the variant, while DC fast charging from 10 to 80 percent can be completed in about 26 to 28 minutes.
Safety remains the hallmark of the brand, and the EX30 integrates Volvo’s decades of real-world accident research into its comprehensive suite of driver assistance and collision avoidance technologies. Standard features include Pilot Assist, which adapts speed, distance, and steering; Driver Attention Monitoring, designed to detect fatigue or distraction; and Collision Avoidance, which provides alerts and can apply automatic braking or steering when necessary. Intersection Auto Brake reduces the risk of collisions at crossings, while a Door Opening Alert prevents accidents with passing cyclists. The Ultra variant further adds a 360-degree camera system and Park Pilot Assist, enabling the vehicle to steer, accelerate, and brake itself into parking spaces.
Inside, the EX30 offers a minimalist Scandinavian cabin crafted from renewable and recycled materials. Customers can choose nature-inspired themes enhanced by ambient lighting. The Ultra variant comes with a Harman Kardon Premium Sound Bar with nine speakers, while the Core is equipped with a five-speaker system. Comfort is supported by advanced climate controls, with the Ultra featuring a dual-zone system and the Core using a single-zone layout. A 12.3-inch central display with Google built-in, wireless smartphone charging, and multiple USB-C charging points complete the digital amenities. Practicality is not compromised, with rear load space ranging from 318 liters with the seats up to 904 liters when folded, plus a small front trunk for added convenience.
Sustainability is central to the EX30’s identity. Built in a factory powered by climate-neutral energy, the SUV incorporates approximately 25 percent recycled aluminum, 17 percent recycled steel, and 17 percent recycled plastics. Interior textiles use materials such as denim, flax, and wool blends combined with recycled polyester, underlining Volvo’s commitment to reducing environmental impact.
"The Volvo EX30 is a clear manifestation of our dedication to innovation, safety, and sustainability," said Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, Vice Chairman, President, and CEO of Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. "Its impressive array of awards and top-tier safety rating underscore our commitment to providing a vehicle that not only excites but also protects and respects our planet. The EX30 truly represents the future of mobility, available today."
In the Philippine market, the EX30 Core RWD Pure Electric is priced at ₱2,350,000, while the EX30 Ultra RWD Extended Range Pure Electric is listed at ₱2,690,000. Available color choices include Onyx Black, Sand Dune, Cloud Blue, Crystal White, and Vapor Gray.
