PALO, Leyte – Police Regional Office-8 commander Police Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy said that aside from quick response, police must do what is right without taking shortcuts in responding to crimes.
“Our local PNP here in Region 8 should be quick and fast in responding to criminality. I don’t want it to take days to resolve (issues),” Capoy said during the turnover of 60 body-worn cameras to provincial and city police offices on Wednesday, Aug. 20, to enhance PRO-8’s transparency during operations.
The Leyte Police Provincial Office received 19, Southern Leyte PPO, six; Samar PPO, four; Eastern Samar PPO, eight; Northern Samar PPO, nine; Biliran PPO, four; Tacloban City Police Office, four, and Ormoc City Police Office, six.
Capoy also emphasized enhancing skills like gun handling through training and establishing strong working relationships in barangays, particularly with police chiefs to improve information sharing.
“Every day is training day. PRO-8 should not only be satisfied with good investigators. Our legal team should always conduct re-education. I will create a mobile team that will train our respective police stations.”
