ILOILO CITY — The Land Transportation Office-6 and Police Regional Office-6 have joined forces to expedite the distribution of motorcycle plates across Western Visayas region.
LTO-6 Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso P. Geduspan II and PRO-6 Director Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan met on Wednesday, Aug. 20, and formally discussed the distribution.
Geduspan asked PRO-6 to help in field distribution as the Marcos administration ordered to address the backlog of plate issuance and distribution across the country.
Police will handle security, crowd management, and traffic control at distribution sites in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces.
The LTO-6 has started its massive motorcycle plate distribution in Iloilo City under ‘’Oplan: Stop, Plate & Go’’ program.
The agency's partnership with the police complements the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act by making motorcycles easier to identify.
Geduspan pointed out this will help deter criminal activity and bolster community security.
He was accompanied in the meeting by LTO-6 Legal Officer Atty. Jehan Miranda and personnel from the LTO Regional Law Enforcement Section-6.
