CEBU CITY – Police arrested a suspected gunrunner in a raid in Barangay Flores, Catmon town, Cebu province on Tuesday morning, Aug. 19.
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Cebu City Field Unit recovered unlicensed firearms when they arrested Giovani Poro Cinco, 47.
Police raided the suspect’s house based on a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Maria Josefa C. Pinza-Ramos of the Regional Trial Court Branch 90 in Danao City, Cebu.
Seized during the raid were a .45 caliber pistol, a 9mm caliber pistol, three magazines, and ammunition.
Police said the suspect will be charged for violating Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Police said they received reports that unidentified persons frequented the suspect’s house.
It turned out the suspect’s visitors were his patrons who bought unlicensed firearms from him, police said.
