The Northern Police District (NPD) has expressed its commitment to accountability and discipline as investigations continue into the alleged arbitrary detention of Jason Dela Rosa at the Caloocan City Police Station from July 22 to 25.
In a statement, the NPD said it is cooperating with the Internal Monitoring and Investigation Service of the National Police Commission (IMIS-NAPOLCOM) and has already submitted all documents and evidence gathered in its initial inquiry.
The district also confirmed that effective Aug. 5, the Sub-Station 2 commander and the personnel involved were relieved of their posts, disarmed, and reassigned to the NPD District Personnel Holding and Accounting Section while facing criminal and administrative cases.
“We assure the public that we remain steadfast in upholding discipline within our ranks and protecting the integrity of the PNP as an institution,” it said.
“Misconduct and lapses in duty have no place in our organization, and we will not hesitate to take firm and decisive action against any breach of discipline in the PNP,” the police district added.
The statement was issued after the father of Dion Angelo “Gelo” Dela Rosa filed the case before the NAPOLCOM on Monday, Aug. 18.
