Manila Mayor "Isko Moreno" Domagoso personally visited the Beata Health Center in Pandacan, Manila, to assess the condition of residents, especially senior citizens, and to consult with the community.
Joining the mayor were Dr. Grace Padilla, Engr. Armand Andres, Engr. Randy Sadac and Director Mark Delfin who participated in the discussions aimed at enhancing public healthcare services in the area.
Originally repurposed as a wellness center, the facility will now be restored to its original function as a community health center.
After consultation with residents, particularly the elderly, it was collectively decided that returning it to a health center would better address the community's need for access to medicines and medical services.
As part of the rehabilitation, the facility will undergo renovations to make it more comfortable, fully air-conditioned, and accessible, thus reducing the need for residents to travel to distant health centers.
The mayor said there will be no online scheduling required allowing patients to receive direct and immediate medical attention.
Once fully restored, the Beata Health Center will serve four barangays, the mayor announced.
The city government assured the public of its commitment to see the project through and deliver quality healthcare to the community.
"Sisiguraduhin natin na maibabalik at mapakikinabangan muli ang pasilidad na ito ayon sa orihinal nitong layunin, ang magsilbi sa tao (We will make sure this facility is restored and used for its original purpose, to serve the people), he added.
