The Philippines is set to host the Hot Wheels Collectors Convention from August 22 to 24, bringing together enthusiasts, customizers, artists, and collectors for one of the largest diecast events in the region. For the first time, the country will feature its own Official Licensed Convention Car, a milestone achievement that firmly establishes the Philippines on the global Hot Wheels collectors map.
The convention will take place at Okada Manila in the Crystal Pavilion. Organized by MetricsPH in official partnership with Mattel, the three-day event promises a packed schedule of activities and exclusive releases designed to celebrate the country’s thriving collector community.

At the center of the excitement is the Official Licensed Philippine Convention Car, a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 in the famous “Hippie” livery and with the number 88. This car is part of a global series of five Hot Wheels convention cars released in different countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia. When all five Porsche models are collected, their packaging forms the Hot Wheels logo, making the Philippine edition an essential piece for global collectors.

Chris Hernandez, lead organizer from MetricsPH, stressed the importance of this milestone, saying Filipino collectors have long dreamed of seeing the country represented on the global Hot Wheels stage. He noted that this year’s official Philippine convention car finally makes that possible.
Convention competitions
The convention will also feature a series of contests designed to showcase creativity and competition, all managed by Edz Camila. There’s a Diorama Contest where builders can enter the Urban or Off-Road categories, judged by Eddie Putera, Edon Fabreo, and Jon Miranda. The Custom Diecast Contest: Car Showdown will see modified creations go head-to-head, with prizes for the top three entries in both “Mild” and “Wild” categories, and a dedicated 6–12 year old division encouraging participation from the younger generation. The Custom Diecast Contest will be judged by popular modders Kromebandits, Roman Nicolas, and Sky Dayrit.
Photography enthusiasts will find global representation in the Diecast Photography Contest, which is open to participants worldwide. The top six winning entries will be featured in the 2026 Diecast Calendar, with photo credits, optional captions, gifts, and certificates provided to the selected photographers. Judges include Lance Kanishka Muller, John Enri Danganan, and Nigel J. de Zilwa.
Racing also plays a part in the festivities through the Downhill Dash Racing Tournament, divided into Loose Cars divisions for kids, teens, and adults, as well as a Carded Cars division where unopened blister-pack cars compete for top honors. Rounding out the contests is the Influencer Challenge, where participants post photos or reels showcasing their passion for diecast culture. Winners will receive this year’s exclusive convention car.
Guest highlights
Highlights of the convention include an exclusive meet-and-greet with Michael Guevarra, a Filipino Hot Wheels designer who is part of the Hot Wheels Artshop Team. Guevarra, a lead illustration designer, will meet fans who purchase a minimum of ₱1,200 worth of Hot Wheels items. Renowned Filipino contemporary artist Ronald Ventura, known for his RWB (Rauh Welt Begriff) Porsche projects, will display four of his cars at the venue. While he has no official role in the convention program, he is expected to attend the event.
Collector packages
Collectors can choose from several packages. The Exclusive Dinner Experience, priced at $500 or ₱28,500, includes an international meet-and-greet dinner, two Official Licensed Philippine Convention Cars, and two premium sets of official merchandise featuring bags, lanyards, shirts, hats, pins, patches, pop badges, fridge magnets, and custom acrylic display cases. The Vendor Package, priced at $200 or ₱11,400, provides a vendor table, a convention car, and a full set of official merchandise, while the Early Access Package at $170 or ₱9,700 offers early access to the car display floor and vendor tables, along with a convention car and merchandise set.
A true enthusiast's convention
For those who do not purchase any of the collector packages, admission to the event itself is free, ensuring that the wider Hot Wheels community can still enjoy the displays, retail areas, competitions, and activities. With designers, artists, and collectors converging in Manila, the Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Philippines 2025 is brewing to be a landmark event for the diecast community. For Filipino collectors who have long relied on limited local availability and high-priced imports, the arrival of an official convention car and a globally recognized event marks a turning point, providing not only access to exclusive releases but also recognition on the world stage.
