Police arrested two women in an entrapment operation after they were caught performing an illegal abortion in Barangay Biñang 2nd, Bocaue, Bulacan, on Monday, Aug. 18.

Acting Bocaue police chief Lt. Col. Virgilio Ramirez identified the suspects as alias “Jes,” 36, of Barangay Biñang 2nd, and alias “Tina,” 20, of Barangay Tigbe, Norzagaray.
The operation was launched after a confidential informant reported Jes’s activities to the Women and Children Protection Desk.
During the entrapment, police caught Jes in the act of performing an abortion on Tina around 4:30 a.m.
The two women were taken to Joni Hospital in Barangay Igulot for medical attention.
Police seized several gynecological tools and medicines from the site.
The suspects will face charges for violating the Philippine Midwifery Act, Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act, the Revised Penal Code provisions on abortion, and the 1987 Constitution.
The Bulacan police said the operation is part of their intensified campaign against all forms of criminality in the province.
