Woman dies after being hit by van in Caloocan

A 60-year-old woman died after being hit by an L300 van while crossing Congressional Road in Caloocan City on Saturday, August 16
Police identified the victim as Merlyna Balungcas, a resident of Barangay 179.
The L300 was traversing Congressional Road toward Bankers Village when the incident occurred.
The victim was crossing when she was hit by the vehicle, throwing her several meters away.
She was rushed to Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, where she was later declared dead.
The van’s driver, identified as Sandy Dela Rosa, 51, of Sta. Ana, Quezon City, will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
