Severe flooding brought by Typhoon Dante and Typhoon Emong left parts of Luzon, particularly low-lying areas in Laguna, submerged for days. The impact was felt close to Suzuki Philippines' head office, where communities endured heavy rainfall, rising floodwaters, and restricted access to essentials.
In response, Suzuki Philippines, through its Marine Department, coordinated with local government units and rescue teams to provide immediate assistance. The company deployed specialized watercraft to aid mobility and relief operations. An inflatable boat with a 6HP Suzuki outboard motor was sent to Biñan, while a poly boat with a 15HP motor was delivered to Sta. Rosa. These boats were instrumental in navigating deep waters and narrow passages that hindered conventional vehicles and manual boats.
The marine equipment was used to transport relief goods directly to residents stranded in their homes, particularly in severely affected areas such as Sikatville, where floodwaters reached chest level. The boats enabled responders to deliver food and supplies quickly and safely, offering relief and reassurance to isolated families. Community leaders and volunteers commended the reliability of the equipment, which expanded the reach of rescue efforts.
Beyond immediate relief, Suzuki Philippines also launched a Flood Support Program to assist owners of Suzuki vehicles damaged in the floods. The program offers a 30% discount on select control modules, including the Engine Control Module (ECM), ABS Control Module, Body Control Module (BCM), and SRS Control Unit. The offer applies to non-insured Suzuki vehicles, providing a cost-effective option for safe repairs and continued mobility.
Suzuki Philippines stated that in times of natural calamities, mobility is more than just movement—it is a means to care, connect, and uplift. The company affirmed its commitment to supporting communities both on land and on water, especially during emergencies.
