Mayor Maan bats for digitalization of Marikina City gov't services
Marikina City Mayor Maan Teodoro
Marikina City Mayor Maan Teodoro on Monday, Aug. 18, renewed her call for continuous digitalization of all city government services as part of her administration's efforts to curb corruption and streamline social services for residents.
Teodoro said the city government is currently eyeing to digitalize the payment of fines and penalties, the request for business permits, and the application and issuance of other government documents to Marikeños.
We have begun a process audit of all processes at the city hall. We are studying step-by-step how to streamline the processes and how to speed up the turnaround time or speed in obtaining the documents needed by our citizens)," Teodoro said.
She also stressed the city hall's vision of making its government transactions contactless to reduce personal interaction and manual intervention, which in return, will stamp out fixers, red tape, and other forms of abuse.
Ito ay reporma na magtitiyak ng efficient, mabilis, at tapat na serbisyo (Digitalization is not just a modernization of the system. It is a reform that will ensure efficient, fast, and honest service)," the mayor said.
This is not an overnight change, but a gradual process that will strengthen our city hall. From internal systems to client-facing services, once we complete the pre-works and digitalization process, expect easier, faster, and more accessible ways to get our government services right at your fingertips)," she added.
