Malabon police identify two bodies found in waterway, sidewalk

The Malabon City Police Station (MCPS) identified the two bodies found floating in a waterway and on a sidewalk in the city on Monday, Aug. 18.
According to MCPS Chief Col. Allan Umipig, the first victim was identified as Antonio Saddul, 21, a resident of Barangay San Antonio, Quezon City.
Umipig added that Saddul’s body was found floating along the riverside near C-4 Road in Barangay Tañong around 7 a.m.
Saddul’s father told the police that his son had been battling depression.
Meanwhile, the body of Jose Garnasy alias “Mumo,” 67, was discovered on a sidewalk along Victoneta Barangay Potrero at around 7 a.m.
Mumo, who was a street dweller and a scavenger in the area, was last seen at around 6 p.m., on Sunday, Aug. 17, witness said that he had frequently been observed suffering from a severe cough.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death of both men and to locate the relatives of Garnasy.
