A man was arrested for allegedly killing his seven-year-old daughter from Asingan, Pangasinan last week.
The suspect and his wife abducted the victim, a Grade 2 student in Barangay Bantog, Asingan on Thursday.
The victim’s body was found in the sea of Barangay Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City, on Friday.
In a press briefing Monday, Pangasinan police chief Police Col. Arbel Merculo, said that the suspects rented a Toyota Fortuner owned by a businessman from Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.
Their identities were confirmed through the identification cards they submitted to the businessman.
Police monitored the SUV to have travelled to multiple locations through the installed Global Positioning System.
The suspects were apprehended in Sison, Pangasinan by the Dagupan City Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit, the Regional Intelligence Unit, Urdaneta City police, Asingan police, and Sison police.
Police discovered that the car’s license plates were replaced with fake ones and have combed the vehicle for pieces of evidence.
The suspects underwent inquest proceedings on Monday. Follow-up investigation continues.
