BATANGAS CITY – Classes and work at the University of Batangas (UB) main campus in this city were canceled on Monday morning, Aug. 18, due to a bomb threat.
The school administration said students will have asynchronous classes, except for the College of Law, which will continue with synchronous classes.
The bomb threat was received at past 8:30 a.m. and all transactions and classes on campus were immediately stopped.
Personnel from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Batangas City Police Station, and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team responded to the school.
The school administration immediately issued a notice for students and employees to leave the university and return home for their safety.
Elementary students were temporarily placed at Plaza Mabini while awaiting their parents.
Security has been tightened around the university as authorities continue to investigate the threat.
