San Juan City inks sisterhood ties with Surigao provinces, cities to boost health and social services
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora led the signing of sisterhood agreements with Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Surigao City, and Tandag City to strengthen cooperation in public health and social services.

The signing events, held on Friday, Aug. 15, began in Surigao City, where Zamora signed agreements with Surigao del Norte Gov. Robert Lyndon S. Barbers and Surigao City Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II, witnessed by provincial and city officials.
“San Juan City is honored to forge these Sisterhood Agreements with Surigao del Norte and Surigao City,” Zamora said.
Barbers thanked San Juan City, while Dumlao noted the opportunities for collaboration and shared learning.
In Tandag City, Surigao Del Sur, Zamora and his officials were welcomed with a Manobo tribal blessing and a trade fair showcasing the province’s industries.
The mayor signed agreements with Gov. Johnny T. Pimentel of Surigao del Sur and Mayor Roxanne C. Pimentel of Tandag City, also witnessed by provincial and city leaders.
“These agreements signify our joint commitment to growth and cooperation,” Zamora said.
Gov. Pimentel described the partnership as “a concrete commitment to work hand in hand,” while Mayor Pimentel said, “We are not just signing paper, we are gaining family.”
In addition to public health and social services, the local government said the agreements also foster cooperation in tourism, trade, investment, culture, education, environment, and sports, with Joint Technical Working Groups overseeing implementation.
