Oriental Mindoro Gov. Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor inspected several dikes in the province over the weekend and was dismayed over their damaged condition.

Dolor visited a dike in Naujan but a security guard initially refused to let him visit due to lack of authority from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The provincial chief executive was irked and reprimanded the security guard who backed off and allowed him to enter.
Dolor was accompanied by major television networks during the inspection.
Footages showed the dike in Barangay Mulawin in terrible condition.
Dolor conducted the inspection days after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered an inspection flood control projects nationwide.
Marcos cited Oriental Mindoro as one of the flood prone areas in the country.
Floods triggered by the southwest monsoon or ‘’habagat’’ and consecutive tropical cyclones destroyed these recently-built infrastructure.
