Another rider is in big trouble over a viral social media post of standing and dancing on top of his motorcycle while stuck in traffic on a public road.
The viral post was already monitored by the LTO social media team and as a result, the rider, a resident of Binondo, Manila, was issued with a show cause order (SCO) demanding explanation from him as to why he should not be penalized for being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle.
LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II said the driver’s license of the rider was already suspended for 90 days and he was instructed to surrender it on or before the scheduled hearing of his case on Aug. 20.
The hearing is a chance for the rider to explain why his driver’s license should not be revoked, which is the maximum penalty for the case of being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle.
The LTO said what the rider did also falls under the reckless driving violation.
In the social media post, the rider, a resident of Binondo, Manila, was seen standing and dancing on the top of a motorcycle while temporarily stopped in traffic.
The incident, according to the LTO, appeared to have taken place on a public roadway and in full view of other motorists and pedestrians.
“Failure to appear and submit the written comment/explanation as required shall be construed by this Office as a waiver of your rights to be heard, and the case shall be decided based on the evidence at hand,” the SCO read.
