BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested a 30-year-old man from Ilog, Negros Occidental, for allegedly molesting his three nieces aged seven, eight, and nine.
Police Lt. Col. Joem Malong, spokesperson ofthe Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), said the suspect, the fifth most wanted person in NIR, was served an arrest warrant for eight counts of qualified rape through sexual assault on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
The arrest warrant with no bail recommended was issued by the Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 61 on Aug. 8.
The PRO-NIR also apprehended three other fugitives, including the seven most wanted person in the region, in a series of intensified law enforcement operations in Negros Occidental on Wednesday.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, said these operations send a clear message that lawbreakers have no place to hide in Negros Island.
He added that they will continue to track down criminals to ensure that communities remain safe, drug-free, and conducive to progress.
Police urged the public to remain vigilant and actively cooperate with authorities by reporting any suspicious activities within their communities.
“Through continued collaboration between the police and the people, a safer and more peaceful Negros Island can be achieved,” Ibay said.
