Farmer killed in dynamite blast

PATNANUNGAN, Quezon – A 46-year-old farmer was killed by an improvised dynamite known as ‘’bigas-bigas’’ that exploded in his hand in Barangay Luod, this town, before dawn on Friday, Aug. 15.
Police identified the victim as Larry.
Investigation said that the drunk victim boasted and lighted a dynamite in front of his son-in-law during a drinking session.
However, the dynamite exploded in the victim’s hand and sustained injuries. He died on the way to the hospital.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation and tracing the source of the dynamite used in illegal fishing.
