DAGUPAN CITY – Police arrested two suspects in the brutal killing of two women in Palauig, Zambales on Thursday during a hot-pursuit operation in Caloocan City on Saturday.

The suspects – Jinky, 30, female, jobless, and Benedict, 34, male, mechanic, residents of Masinloc, Zambales – were arrested at around 11:30 a.m. inside a hotel in Bagong Barrio.
The victims were killed before dawn on Thursday, Aug. 14, in Purok 5, Barangay Salaza.
A witness heard a speeding vehicle followed by gunshots.
Two bodies were found in a canal – Khang-Khang, of Barangay Tal-Tal, Masinloc, and another female, Leng-Leng.
Scene-of-the-Crime Operatives recovered five empty .45 caliber shells, sachets of suspected shabu, personal accessories, and cash.
Police launched manhunt after they found out that the suspects fled aboard a black Subaru vehicle with license plates NVO-573 for Metro Manila.
A flash alarm was issued for the vehicle, and closed-circuit television camera monitoring traced the vehicle to Caloocan.
The suspects were arrested after Jinky left their room to buy cigarettes.
Recovered from them were a caliber .38 revolver and the vehicle.
The suspects are under police custody and face appropriate charges.
PRO-3 chief Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. lauded operating units for the swift arrest of the suspects.
