ALAMINOS, Laguna – A three-year-old girl who swallowed a small toy was rescued by two off-duty firemen in Barangay San Benito, this town, on Thursday, Aug. 14.
The Bureau of Fire Protection-Region 4-A Lucena City Fire Station said Senior Fire Officer 1 Jan Vincent Alba and Fire Officer 1 Lloyd Aaron Gimenez from the BFP 4-A regional headquarters in Calamba City, Laguna noticed a commotion on their way home in an ambulance of the Lucena City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) where they were detailed as first responders.
They checked and found out that a child was having difficulty breathing after swallowing a small object.
The firefighters immediately administered emergency first aid to the child and removed the toy.
The child was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
