McDonald's launches 2-minute drive-thru challenge nationwide

Customers can test the speed of their orders every Monday, with free McCafé iced coffee for those who wait longer

McDonald’s is putting its Drive-Thru speed to the test with the 2-Minute Drive-Thru Challenge, now happening everyday at all McDonald’s Drive-Thru stores nationwide.

The 2-Minute Drive-Thru Challenge lets customers see for themselves the speed and reliability of McDonald’s service with the added thrill of a ticking timer and a special treat for those who wait a little longer.

Here’s how it works: after placing an order and paying at Window 1, customers are handed a timer set for exactly two minutes. As they proceed to Window 2, the countdown begins. If their complete order is served before the timer hits zero, they’ll enjoy the satisfaction of speed and efficiency. If it takes more than two minutes, they’ll receive a Free McCafé Iced Coffee Original coupon to redeem on their next visit.

Previously a Monday promotion, this nationwide promo now runs from Mondays to Sundays until October 31, 2025 from 6am to 9pm, underscoring McDonald’s commitment to enhancing convenience and delivering a seamless Drive-Thru experience for customers.

“Through the 2-Minute Drive-Thru Challenge, we want our customers to see and feel the improvements we’ve made in speed and service, without compromising the food quality they’ve come to expect from McDonald’s,” said Ada Lazaro, McDonald’s Philippines chief marketing officer.

Whether McDonald’s crew beats the 2-minute challenge or you claim a free McCafé treat, the 2-Minute Drive-Thru Challenge ensures that everyday at McDonald’s Drive-Thru is a win for customers.
