Combining the best of ICE and electric

Jaecoo is about to expand its lineup with an SUV that combines the best traits of internal combustion engines (ICE) and electric vehicles (EV). The Jaecoo J7 SHS (Super Hybrid System) is set to launch very soon, offering customers an exceptional balance of exhilarating performance and remarkable fuel economy. This highly anticipated model is expected to be priced quite competitively and combines sophistication with hybrid technology.
Power meets efficiency
At the heart of the new Jaecoo J7 SHS is a powertrain engineered to a dynamic and responsive driving experience whether navigating city streets or conquering challenging terrains. Powering it is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor powered by an 18.3 kWh battery pack. These two combine to help it produce 275-HP and 365-Nm of torque.
Besides the power, the J7 SHS can also achieve remarkable fuel efficiency, with an estimated range of more than 1,200-km on a full tank and fully charged battery.
Not content with speculative figures, Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines submitted the J7 SHS for a Verification Range Test conducted by the Automobile Association of the Philippines' (AAP) last February 2025, achieving 29.08 km/l over a 418.9-kilometer route. It was also able to travel up to 106 km without using fuel in pure electric mode. It was also able to drive a total distance of 1,488.8 km on a full tank and a single charge.
Best of all, the J7 can easily be refueled like a regular ICE vehicle. Its battery is then charged by the engine automatically as needed.
Being a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), it can also be manually recharged. A fast 40kW DC charger can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes. A 6.6 kW AC charger can recharge it from 25% to 100% in around 2.5 hours. A 230V home socket charger can recharge the battery from 25% to 100% in around 10 hours. Finally, the J7 can also power other appliances thanks to its vehicle-to-load (V2L) system that can provide 3.3 kW of power.
Sophisticated design
The Jaecoo J7 SHS isn't just about what's under the hood; it's also designed to deliver a comfortable driving experience and aesthetic appeal. Its exterior design embodies rugged elegance, characterized by a bold grille, distinct LED lighting, and a sleek yet commanding shape. Hidden electric door handles contribute to its streamlined profile, and pop out when entering or exiting the vehicle.
Inside, the cabin boasts of a premium, minimalist design. The advanced cabin is intuitively designed, featuring a large 14.8-inch portrait-style infotainment display and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that put control and information at the driver's fingertips.
Prioritizing safety
The J7 SHS also has the highest regard for occupant safety and driver confidence. It comes with a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, and a 360-degree camera system.
The J7 SHS is offered in four color options: Moonlight Silver, Khaki White, Carbon Crystal Black, and Olive Grey.
