2 'salvage' victims found in Zambales

Two bodies of two women believed to be ‘’salvage’’ or summary execution victims were discovered in a canal in Purok 5, Barangay Salaza, Palauig, Zambales, on Thursday morning, Aug. 14.
Police identified the victims as alias Khangkhang, 24, a resident of Purok Relocation, Barangay Taltal, Masinloc, Zambales, and alias Lengleng, from Tarlac.

A resident said she was inside her house when she heard a speeding car followed by successive gunshots. She ignored the gunshots and went to sleep.
She woke up and saw the bodies in the canal.
Police Capt. Leoven Eduagen, Palauig police station officer-in-charge, said Khangkhang sustained three bullet wounds in the back while Lengleng was shot in the head.
Authorities recovered from the crime scene five empty caliber .45 shells, 15 empty transparent sachets of suspected shabu, and personal belongings.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation and manhunt operations.
