Teenage girl shot by ex-BF in Nueva Ecija dies

DAGUPAN CITY – The 15-year-old girl shot by her ex-boyfriend in Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija has passed away, police said.
Police said Lea died on Tuesday, Aug. 12, five days after she was shot by her ex-boyfriend, Leo, in a public school classroom on Thursday, Aug. 7.
Lea succumbed to a bullet wound in the head in a hospital in Nueva Ecija.
The suspect shot himself after shooting Lea. He and Lea were taken to a hospital in Cabanatuan City.
She was later transferred to another hospital  for further treatment.
Police Capt. Noime Gogotano, Nueva Ecija police information officer, said Leo passed away at around 3:30 p.m. on August 8 in his house where he was taken after his parents lost hope that he will survive.
Lawmen are still conducting follow-up investigation. They are determining where Leo obtained the murder weapon – a .22 caliber handgun with no serial number.
