Taiwan youth delegation visits Manila to strengthen cultural and business ties

Eleven young delegates from Taiwan arrived in Manila on August 11, 2025, for a nine-day cultural and professional exchange under the “Taiwan Youth Overseas Expatriate Bridging Program,” organized by Taiwan’s Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC).

They were welcomed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport by the Culture Center of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines and the Love & Care Foundation. The foundation, together with leaders from the Taiwanese community, hosted a welcome dinner attended by prominent Taiwan business figures, who shared their experiences of living and working in the Philippines and encouraged the youth to broaden their global outlook.

On August 12, 2025, the delegation visited TECO’s Makati office, where Ambassador Wallace Minn-Gan Chow highlighted the Philippines as Taiwan’s closest partner in the New Southbound Policy. They also toured the Asian Development Bank, engaging with Taiwanese professionals there, and met with the Taiwan Association Inc. Philippines (TAP) to discuss entrepreneurship and industry trends.

The program includes visits to business chambers, schools, and cultural sites, aiming to deepen understanding of the community’s contributions and further strengthen Taiwan-Philippines friendship and cooperation.
