Over 60 youth officials immerse in public service in Bulacan
Vice Gov. Alexis Castro led the ceremonial transfer of tesponsibilities to Boy Governor Kim Bryan Lacson from Felizardo C. Lipana National High School in Guiguinto and Boy Vice Governor Angelo Jr. Santos from San Miguel National High School in San Miguel, along with all the other boy/girl officials, during an event held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in the City of Malolos.
Castro said each boy/girl official will have a counterpart in every department of the provincial government as well as in national government agencies within the province.
Castro encouraged the boy/girl officials to make the most of their week at the Provincial Capitol and urged their counterparts to give them a meaningful and memorable experience.
“Bigyan natin sila ng magandang isang linggo na hindi nila makakalimutan. Ito naman kasi talaga ang purpose nito, para malaman nila kung ano ba ang trabaho natin at ginagawa natin dito sa pamahalaang panlalawigan. Para mamulat sila sa totoong reyalidad kung ano ba ang public service(Let’s give them a good week that they will never forget. This is the purpose—to let them know the kind of work we do here in the Provincial Government and to make them aware of the true reality of public service)," the vice governor said.
Meanwhile, the counterpart of Gov. Daniel Fernando urged his fellow youth to be a spark of hope and a light for society, while asking their official counterparts to allow them to contribute to change.
“Sa ating mga iginagalang na opisyal ng pamahalaan, hinihikayat ko po kayo na samahan kami sa kilusang ito para sa isang mabuting pamamahala. Kami pong mga kabataan ay handang matuto mula sa inyo, ngunit sana po ay maging bukas din kayo sa aming mga ideya, sa aming mga pananaw, at sa aming lakas na magdadala ng bagong sigla sa ating pamahalaan,” (To our respected government officials, I encourage you to join us in this movement for good governance. We young people are ready to learn from you, but we also hope you will be open to our ideas, perspectives, and energy that can bring renewed vitality to our government), the boy governor said.
Aside from immersing themselves in office work, the boy/girl officials will also undergo briefings and seminars on various topics throughout the week, including:
• Urban Gardening for Young Farmers
• Servant Leadership
• Mental Health
• Local Youth Action for the SDG and Beyond
• Pamanang Kasaysayan ng Lalawigan ng Bulacan
