DAVAO CITY – Davao City first district Rep. Paolo Duterte and acting Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte II expanded their community outreach on Wednesday, Aug. 13, delivering solar-powered lights, sturdy fiberglass basketball boards, and food assistance to residents of Barangays 5-A, 6-A, 8-A, and 25-C.
Rep. Duterte’s office said the initiative, which began earlier this year, has now covered 18 barangays in the district and is expected to reach more communities in the coming weeks. Barangay officials also received food packs for their continuous service to their constituents.
Vice Mayor Duterte said their team aims to visit different barangays weekly to bring the program straight to the people. “This is also our way of expressing gratitude for each barangay’s support to our leadership,” he added.
Barangay 8-A Captain James Abadilla thanked the Dutertes for their consistent, on-the-ground presence. He said that Vice Mayor Duterte personally comes to check the welfare of their constituents and offer assistance to those in need.
Vice Mayor Duterte assured that their program will eventually reach every barangay in the first district.
