Daryl Ong takes steps to broaden musical horizon
OPM singer Daryl Ong marks a significant milestone in his illustrious 20-year journey in the entertainment industry by taking bold steps to broaden his musical horizons.
With a passion that has only deepened over the years, Daryl is venturing into new artistic territories, eager to explore fresh sounds and compositions that reflect his growth as an artist.
"Mas marami pang projects, expanding my music and also releasing original songs which are relatable to the audience," said Daryl when asked about his current journey in the music scene during an interview at the opening of Platinum Karaoke Concept Store at SM Makati City recently.
Daryl, 38, also shared what fans could expect from him in the coming months.
"We have a lot of corporate shows here in Manila and provinces, so magiging busy, and of course, watch out for more original songs that I'll be releasing," he said.
Daryl rose to fame when he became a semi-finalist for Voice of the Philippines Season 2. He impressed the judges and viewers when he sang his blind audition piece "Paano" in 2014.
On Sept. 18, Daryl will be one of the artists for the show entitled "Platinum Hits: A grand musical tribute to Vehnee A. Saturno," which will be held at the Waterfront Cebu City Resort and Casino.
Known for his velvety tone and expressive delivery, Daryl brought a modern twist to Vehnee's “Ikaw Na Nga”—his rendition even became the theme for the hit teleserye "Bridges of Love."
Daryl's debut single, “Mabuti Pa,” penned by Vehnee, showcased not only his vocal talent but also the legendary composer’s mentorship.
