Popular social media personality Boss Toyo enjoyed participating in television programs, but he said he has no plans to pursue a full-time acting career.
"Meron na rin akong cameo roles with Bong Revilla, pati na rin sa Bubble Gang. (I also have cameo roles with Bong Revilla, as well as in Bubble Gang)," said Boss Toyo during an interview recently.
He disclosed that he has no intention of pursuing full-time work in TV series or movies. Furthermore, he doesn't wish to portray himself in a biopic if one is made about his life.
"Ayoko. Hindi naman ako artista eh. Ibigay na natin yan sa mga tunay na artista. There were offers naman for supporting and cameo roles lang. At hindi na tayo bata. Ibigay na natin yan sa mga tunay na artista. (I don't want to. I'm not an actor. Let's give that to real actors. There were offers for supporting and cameo roles only. And we're not kids anymore. Let's give that to real actors)," said Boss Toyo, chief marketing officer of Kaizer Philippines, during an event for the company held in Las Pinas City.
Other stars and celebrities who graced the event were Maui Taylor, Wrecker, Flow G, Buboy Villar, Zeinab Harake, Princess Tan, and more. They were welcomed by Ms. Lilac Tayaban, COO, Kaizer Philippines, and Mr. Gen Vincent Fabro, CEO, Kaizer Philippines.
Boss Toyo, who previously worked as a tricycle driver and factory worker, is an enthusiastic collector of memorabilia from beloved public figures in the Philippine entertainment scene.
Since launching his YouTube series, Pinoy Pawnstars, in 2022, he has showcased these incredible items, sharing the stories behind them with fans and viewers alike.
Among his popular purchases for the show were the coffin from Star Cinema’s blockbuster film, Rewind, actor Jiro Manio’s Gawad Urian trophy, and a jersey from the late actor-rapper Francis Magalona.
Aside from being a YouTube sensation, Boss Toyo has been signed as a recording artist under Blvck Entertainment. His latest single is the rap song "Geng Geng."
On his goal, Boss Toyo said he hopes to be successful in his endeavors: "I want to be successful for my family. Besides, kapag naging successful naman tayo, marami pa akong matutulungan. (I want to be successful for my family. Besides, if we become successful, I can help many more people.)"
Boss Toyo, 44, believes he hasn't changed since he became a popular internet personality.
"Ganun pa rin si Boss Toyo. Masipag at mabait. Simple pa rin ako magbihis. Minsan nga naka-pambahay lang ako. (Boss Toyo is still the same. Hardworking and kind. I still dress simply. Sometimes, I just wear home clothes.)"
"Hindi talaga ako mahilig magbihis na maporma. Pinipilit nga ako ng mga kasama ko na kailangan lagi raw akong ma-porma pero simple lang talaga ako. (I don't really like dressing up to look good. My friends always tell me I need to look good, but I'm really simple.)"
"Kanina lang kumain ako sa pares restaurant. Pumunta ako sa simpleng pares restaurant at nagulat sila dala ko rin sasakyan ko. (I just ate at a pares restaurant. I went to a simple pares restaurant and they were surprised that I brought my car with me)," the philanthropist also said.
On his message to legions of social media followers, Boss Toyo answered: "Huwag ninyong tularan yung lahat ng nakikita ninyo sa akin. Tularan ninyo yung magagandang nakikita ninyo sa akin. (Don't imitate everything you see in me. Imitate the good things you see in me.)"
For his bashers, Boss Toyo said: "Okay lang yan! Wala na tayong magagawa dyan. (That's okay! There's nothing we can do about it.)"
Boss Toyo also gave his unsolicited advice to rising social media influencers. "Be authentic. Be yourself. Mas maganda yung nakikita ng tao kung sino ka talaga. So magpakatotoo tayo. (Be authentic. Be yourself. It's better when people see who you are. So let's be authentic.)"
