The rapid response of personnel from the Baliwag City Police Station resulted in the immediate arrest of a suspect involved in an attempted killing and hostage-taking at the Baliwag Public Market, Brgy. Poblacion, Baliwag City, Bulacan, on Wednesday, August 13.
Col. Angel Garcillano, acting Bulacan police director, lauded the swift action of the Baliwag City police personnel. Their negotiation skills and tactical intervention in the hostage situation successfully disarmed and arrested the suspect without bloodshed or loss of life, leaving the hostage—a vendor—unharmed.

He expressed hope that this incident would serve as a clear message that in Bulacan, the police will always respond swiftly and remain committed to maintaining the community's safety.
Garcillano added that the prompt action of the Baliwag City police proves the readiness and dedication of the entire police force in the province of Bulacan to uphold peace and order in line with the Five-Minute Response Time program initiated by PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III.
