Tarlac road crash victims were merchandisers, authorities say
TARLAC CITY – Victims of an accident on the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) in Barangay Amucao, Tarlac City on Tuesday, Aug. 12, were mostly merchandisers, authorities said.

Emmanuel Ignacio of the La Paz Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said the victims were on their way to Concepcion, Tarlac from Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija when the accident happened at about 8 a.m.
Passengers said the van was speeding and asked the driver to slow down but he lost control of the vehicle and rammed a fence.
Five people were killed and nine others were injured. The injured were taken to hospitals.
Police said the incident could be considered a self-accident as no other vehicles were involved.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
