President Marcos has received the copy of the proposed national budget for next year, amounting to P6.793 trillion.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. formally receives the copy of the Fiscal Year 2026 National Expenditure Program from Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman on Aug. 12, 2025 in a ceremonial turnover in Malacañan.
Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman officially turned over the Fiscal Year 2026 National Expenditure Program to Marcos on Tuesday, Aug. 12, in a ceremonial turnover in Malacañan.
The P6.793-trillion proposed national budget was 7.4 percent higher than the enacted budget for 2025.
According to Malacañang, the 2026 national budget will prioritize quality and accessible education, healthcare systems and services, expanded social protection programs, and food security.
"The budget will prioritize the essentials that uphold the fundamental rights of our people: the right to learn through quality and accessible education; the right to be healthy through strengthened healthcare systems and services; the right to live with dignity through expanded social protection programs; and the right to food security by ensuring a stable, sufficient, and affordable food supply," Malacañang stated.
The proposed budget, the Palace added, will build on the solid foundations laid over the past three years of the Marcos administration. It also remains anchored on the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028.
It further stated that the 2026 NEP was guided by the theme "Agenda for Prosperity: Nurturing future-ready generations to achieve the full potential of the nation."
