Senior citizens in Manila will gain livelihood opportunities through a free seven-day training on Intramuros’ rich history that will enable them to become accredited community tour guides under the Department of Tourism (DOT).
The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), in partnership with the DOT, will select up to 30 physically fit Manila residents aged 60 and above who are fluent in English to participate in the training.
Applicants must submit their application form, curriculum vitae, 2x2 ID photo, and senior citizen ID issued by the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) via email to the NCSC’s SECADNA at [email protected] by August 22, 2025.
Selected applicants will undergo screening and endorsement by the NCSC before DOT conducts a profiling session ahead of the seminar scheduled from September 23 to October 1, 2025.
Completion of the training is required for accreditation as community tour guides.
This initiative highlights the DOT’s commitment to empowering senior citizens and promoting the country’s rich cultural heritage.
