GOSSIP GIRL - How I turned 50 and still look 35: My secrets to youth, vitality, and longevity

Published Aug 12, 2025 08:09 am

When my recent YouTube interview with Julius Babao hit one million views, the comments section was flooded with one recurring question: “Giselle, what is your secret? How do you look so young at 50?”

Today, I am finally pulling back the curtain. Longevity, I’ve discovered, is not an accident—it is the result of consistent habits, conscious health choices, and a lifestyle rooted in both science and spirituality. Here are the top 10 practices that have kept me looking and feeling youthful.

1.  Cutting-edge energy healing

One of the most fascinating tools I’ve incorporated into my wellness routine is the AI Detect-Regulate-Repair device that combines the knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine's Acupuncture and AI. This innovative technology uses advanced algorithms and biofeedback to scan the body for subtle energy imbalances. It gets your pulse, just like a traditional TCM doctor, and detects early signs of illness by analyzing these subtle rhythms, which reveal the state of organs and energy flow. It then sends targeted frequencies designed to help restore harmony and stimulate the body’s natural repair mechanisms. Think of it as a high-tech reset button for your energy system. This device works on multiple levels—physical, emotional, and energetic—helping to optimize cellular function and reduce chronic stress. Since integrating this into my regimen, I’ve noticed improvements in my sleep, mood, and overall vitality. And since it targets cellular regeneration, I am hoping to sing the song "Forever Young" for a long, long time. It’s a game-changer for anyone serious about longevity.

2. Rebounding – My cellular fountain of youth

Every day, I spend at least 15–20 minutes on a rebounder—a small trampoline that works wonders far beyond what it seems. The gentle bouncing stimulates the lymphatic system, which helps flush toxins from the body. Unlike high-impact exercise, rebounding is easy on the joints while still boosting cardiovascular health. It improves bone density, strengthens muscles, enhances coordination, and even stimulates the vestibular system responsible for balance. On a cellular level, the rhythmic motion increases oxygen circulation, energizes mitochondria (our cells’ powerhouses), and supports detoxification. Best of all, it’s fun. I’m bouncing my way to youth!

3. Breath work and Its advantages

Breath work is a game-changer for both mental and physical health. By focusing on deep, controlled breathing, I reduce stress and anxiety, which has a direct impact on my skin and overall vitality. It enhances oxygen flow, improves lung capacity, and even helps regulate blood pressure. The simple act of breathing deeply can calm the nervous system and boost my energy levels.

4. Balance of exercise, nutrition, and prayer life

True wellness is a holistic approach. I make sure to balance physical exercise with proper nutrition and a strong prayer life. One of my unique habits is praying over my Kangen water. It might sound unconventional, but I believe that infusing my food and drink with gratitude and positive intentions enhances their benefits. It’s not just about physical nourishment; it’s about spiritual nourishment too.

5. Sun gazing and embracing sunlight

Getting plenty of sunlight is another key factor. I practice sun gazing in the early morning, which helps regulate my circadian rhythm, boosts my mood, and increases my vitamin D levels. Sunlight is a natural mood booster and supports healthy immune function.

6. Grounding

Connecting with the earth is another practice I swear by. Walking barefoot on grass, sand, or soil helps balance the body’s electromagnetic field, reduces inflammation, and promotes a sense of calm and well-being.

7. Bio Lite foot massager – Rejuvenation from the ground up

My feet carry me through every day, so I invest in their care with the Prife BioLite foot massager. This device combines heat, vibration, and reflexology principles to stimulate circulation and relieve tension. Using it regularly helps reduce swelling, promotes detoxification, and provides deep relaxation. Healthy feet support balance and posture, which is crucial for maintaining an active lifestyle as we age.

8. Aptos Threads by The Lift Clinic – Non-surgical skin rejuvenation

While lifestyle and natural methods are my foundation, I also trust modern aesthetic medicine for a little boost. Aptos threads, performed by The Lift Clinic, are a minimally invasive treatment that lifts and tightens the skin using biocompatible threads. This stimulates collagen production, improving skin texture and elasticity without the downtime of surgery. It’s a subtle but effective way to maintain a youthful contour.

9. Intermittent Fasting for Autophagy – Cellular renewal

Intermittent fasting is one of the simplest yet most powerful practices I follow. By giving my body regular breaks from food, I trigger autophagy—a natural process where cells clean out damaged parts and regenerate. This cellular renewal supports metabolic health, enhances brain function, and slows aging. I typically fast for 16 hours daily, focusing on nutrient-dense meals during my eating window.

10. Sleep through magnesium tablets – Managing menopause gracefully

Finally, quality sleep is essential, especially as I navigate menopause. I take magnesium tablets to support relaxation and improve sleep quality. Magnesium helps calm the nervous system, reduce muscle cramps, and regulate hormones. A good night’s sleep not only refreshes the mind but also allows the body to repair and rejuvenate overnight.

These 10 practices—combining ancient wisdom, modern technology, and spiritual grounding—have kept me vibrant and youthful at 50. If you’re looking for longevity, start small but stay consistent.
